The need for interoperability between public safety agencies is critical for Mutual Aid, natural disasters, and other incidents requiring multi-jurisdictional responses. First responders need to be able to talk to outside agencies quickly and easily. There are many solutions that achieve interop communications; however, they are not all simple or cost efficient. We will discuss how to create cost efficient interoperability and simplifying radio user experience so they can successfully talk to other users in the field who may have different radio technologies. We will review available interoperability solutions and how to implement these solutions to best meet your needs.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss Public Safety Radio interoperability and why it is needed and discussing the limitations and challenges of implementing these interoperability solutions
Discuss different interoperability solutions – Interop Gateways, Multiband subscribers, ISSI, National Interop/Mutual Aid channels, etc.
Detailed overview of how to implement these solutions while remaining cost-efficient
