Libby Howland works for Eaton County Central Dispatch in Eaton County, Michigan. She comes from a long line of public safety professionals, most importantly her mom and dad, who has supported and guided her throughout her entire career. Libby has a combined 16 years of dispatch experience and currently holds the position of Dispatch Supervisor. Supervisor Howland is the head of the Communications Training Officer Cadre as well as the Public Education Team and is also an active member of the Tactical Dispatch Team and the Public Relations Team.
Supervisor Howland was named the 2023 Supervisor of the Year by the Michigan Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and also earned her Emergency Number Professional (ENP) Certification in March of 2023. She has a passion for Peer Support and improving the mental health of all first responders, both past and present. She has created the Public Education Team at Eaton County and dedicates a lot of her time educating the public about 911 and public safety as a whole.
Libby currently lives in Charlotte, Michigan with her husband Andy who is the epitome of a supportive first responder spouse. They share 2 amazing boys, Jack and Henry who are currently planning their own careers in public safety as a fire fighter and police officer.
