Chief J.T. Manoushagian is a 22-year law enforcement veteran and currently serves as Chief of Police for the Lake Worth Police Department and Executive Director of the Northwest Emergency Communications Center (NWECC) in North Texas. Under his leadership, NWECC became one of only a handful of centers nationwide to achieve both CALEA accreditation and APCO Project 33 (P33) Training Program certification, affirming its commitment to operational excellence, professional standards, and workforce development in emergency communications.
Throughout his career, Chief Manoushagian has served in a variety of assignments including K-9, criminal interdiction, DWI enforcement, administration, and patrol. He is a Master Peace Officer, former Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), and current TCOLE Instructor. Chief Manoushagian holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Texas Christian University (TCU). He also earned graduate certificates in Leadership, Executive and Administrative Development (LEAD) from TCU and Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of both the FBI National Academy (Session 283) and the Leadership Command College of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.
A United States Navy veteran who served in both the enlisted and officer ranks (E-1 through O-3), Chief Manoushagian continues to dedicate his service to the greater public good. In addition to his roles with Lake Worth PD and NWECC, he serves on the Board of Directors for Alliance for Children, a child advocacy center serving the greater Tarrant County area.
