Texas Game Warden
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
Ryan Cobb has proudly served as a Texas Game Warden in Kenedy County for his entire career. He became a Game Warden in June 2021 and has dedicated himself to protecting Texas’ natural resources and ensuring public safety.
Ryan grew up in Dripping Springs, Texas, and graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 2016. He attended Abilene Christian University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Wildlife Management. His education and lifelong passion for the outdoors have shaped his approach to conservation and law enforcement.
Over the past year, Ryan has worked several cases and operations that reflect his commitment to resource protection and emergency response, including:
Wildlife and Resource Protection Cases: Investigated and filed multiple violations, including waste of game cases, failure to complete hunter education requirements, and untagged deer violations, ensuring compliance with Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations.
Drone-Assisted Operations: Utilized unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in multiple operations, including search and rescue missions, locating violent criminals running from law enforcement, and evidence collection in poaching investigations. These tools have improved officer safety and case outcomes.
Kerrville Flooding Response: Responded on July 4th and assisted with setting up Incident Command for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and manned the Joint Air Ground Coordination Team (JAGCT) for all UAS assets responding, as well as tasking and coordination of TPWD Aviation assets during the emergency. This coordination ensured efficient aerial support and resource deployment during a critical disaster response.
Education and Outreach: Taught boater and hunter education courses, organized youth hunts, and participated in public outreach programs to promote outdoor ethics, boating safety, and wildlife conservation throughout the community.
Serving as a Game Warden in South Texas has been an honor for Ryan. He strives every day to protect the resources that make Texas unique.
