Brian Edinger serves as the UAS Program Coordinator for the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, where he leads and supports unmanned aircraft system operations across the department. Prior to joining Alaska DOT&PF in February 2024, Brian served in the U.S. Army as a Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator beginning in November 2003. During his military career, he completed multiple overseas and combat deployments in support of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey, Jordan, Germany, and Alaska. His background includes extensive experience in UAS operations, mission planning, aviation safety, and integrating unmanned systems into complex operational environments. He now focuses on advancing the safe and effective use of drone technology in transportation and public infrastructure operations throughout Alaska.
