Bruce Garner is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in communications and public relations. Beginning his career as a broadcast journalist in radio and television, Bruce developed a strong foundation in media communications. His journey continued as a Public Information Officer for Hamilton County Emergency Management, followed by a remarkable 21-year tenure as the Public Information Director for the Chattanooga Fire Department.
His work with the fire department appeared in notable publications such as Firehouse.com, Fire-Rescue1, and Fire Engineering magazine, highlighting his commitment to advancing public safety communication. Following his role in the fire department, Bruce served as the Communications Director for the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office, where he honed expertise in crisis communications, social media and marketing.
With a passion for engaging the community, Bruce utilized his training and experience in the TV news business to create several videos that gained widespread recognition, including one that earned him the city’s Civilian Service Award for a successful CPR save. Bruce has a unique approach to public engagement, which has had very positive results for the Hamilton County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District in Chattanooga, TN.
