Ryan Niessner is a 24-year public safety veteran from central Maryland with more than 20 years of emergency communications experience, who has served his agency in a variety of capacities, both career and volunteer. Currently, he serves as an Emergency Communications Supervisor and Training Coordinator with the Howard County Police Department, in Maryland. Throughout his tenure, training has been a primary focus functioning over the years as a communications training officer, instructor, operations supervisor, academy coordinator and training supervisor. From technical committees and projects to operations and education, he has a passion to advocate for and introduce others to public safety and emergency communications. He has received training or certification for instruction and management from the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission, International Academies of Emergency Dispatch and NENA’s Center Manager Certification Program, Class 146; and is a member of the Maryland State ECC Training Workgroup.
