Wendy began her public safety career in the late 1990s in Portland, Oregon. Over 16 years with the Bureau of Emergency Communications (BOEC), she progressed from calltaker/dispatcher through roles including coach, instructor, supervisor, and ultimately Training Supervisor. During her tenure, she was actively involved in various projects and committees such as CISM, Peer Support, Employee Recognition, Police Dispatch, and the CAD Implementation Team.
Seeking a new challenge, Wendy transitioned to the role of Manager of the Operations Command Center at Tri-Met. She eventually returned to her "hometown" of Las Vegas, where she served as the Fire Communications Chief for six years before moving into the private sector.
Currently, Wendy is the Senior Account Executive for Motorola in the state of Nevada, managing all public safety and state/local government accounts. This new role allows her to continue supporting the public safety community—a sector to which she has dedicated her career—while simultaneously offering opportunities for new learning and professional growth.
