This course examines the crash of UPS airlines Flight 2976 through the lens of public safety communications. Participants will explore the flow of information between 911 Communications Centers and public safety professionals as well as the messaging plan for informing the public and the media. Additionally, this session will address the role of dispatch in managing complex, rapidly evolving incidents, and the challenges of interagency coordination. Key lessons will focus on interoperability, situational awareness, and communication strategies applicable to large-scale emergencies.
