We'll look at two sides of the same concept: How the 911 professional's tone, cadence and language can either stabilize or escalate the field unit's stress response and about cognitive bandwidth and how it can affect field units copying radio traffic. There will be real world skills discussed and learned that you can take back to your center and use in your work life.
Learning Objectives:
At the beginning of the class, we will review the psychological impact of tone, pacing and language.
At the culmination of this class, we will be able to identify things that reduce the comprehension of field responders such as stress, environment and cognitive overload.
At the culmination of this class, participants will have skills to take back to their centers to improve communication with field responders.
