Dispatching the Flood: Command from Behind the Console explores how Johnson County ESD No.1 dispatchers transform into on-scene leaders during large-scale disasters. Based on real flood and swift-water rescue incidents, this session highlights how communication centers managed chaos, coordinated rescues, and maintained responder safety under extreme pressure. Attendees will gain practical leadership, decision-making, and wellness strategies for command-level operations—proving that some commands cant always operate in the field.
