Jennifer Dana has been a part of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center since February 2009. Starting as a 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator, she advanced through the ranks as a Communications Training Officer and Supervisor before becoming a Section Manager, overseeing operations across one of Florida’s largest and busiest PSAPs.
Over more than a decade in 911 Public safety communications, Jennifer has become a dedicated force for innovation, employee well-being, and professional recognition within the 911 industry. Her leadership initiatives, spanning mentorship, peer support, and legislative advocacy, have helped elevate dispatcher wellness and workplace culture while amplifying the voices of those behind the headset.
Jennifer’s current focus centers on legislative reform, particularly the statewide effort in Florida to reclassify 911 Public Safety Telecommunicators as First Responders. Through her hands-on experience in advocacy, relationship-building, and navigating the complexities of Florida’s legislative process, she has become a recognized voice in pushing for systemic change. Her work demonstrates how those within the 911 industry can successfully translate operational insight into meaningful legislative action.
