Alison Venable serves as Government Relations Senior Counsel at APCO International, the oldest and largest non-profit association dedicated to public safety communications. In this role she analyzes federal regulatory and legislative issues related to 9-1-1 service and public safety spectrum policy, coordinates with state and federal officials, and supports APCO’s advocacy initiatives to strengthen emergency communications nationwide. She also conducts research and provides policy guidance to advance APCO’s legislative priorities and organizational goals. Before joining APCO Alison worked as a research assistant for the Center for Health and Homeland Security and as an intern in the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission. Alison earned her J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law in 2020 with a certification in Cybersecurity and Crisis Management Law and Policy.
