Trevin Hunter serves as Assistant Director of Technology for Louisville Metro Emergency Services and has more than 15 years of experience in public safety communications, emergency management, and mission-critical technology systems. His experience spans frontline public safety communications, 911 operations, public safety systems engineering, and large-scale technology initiatives supporting emergency response operations.
Trevin plays a key role in communications planning and interoperability coordination for many of Louisville’s largest planned events, including Thunder Over Louisville and the Kentucky Derby. Serving in a Communications Unit Leader (COML)-type role, he works closely with local, state, federal, and private-sector partners to support interoperable communications, radio system coordination, deployable communications assets, and public safety technology integration during complex event operations. His work regularly involves coordination with FirstNet, public safety agencies across Kentucky and Indiana, federal partners, and event stakeholders to support reliable communications and operational readiness.
In addition to his communications responsibilities, Trevin leads the Jefferson County Emergency Management drone team and oversees Louisville’s Drone as First Responder (DFR) initiative.
He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology Management and a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management & Disaster Resilience, along with the Emergency Number Professional (ENP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials. Trevin has been recognized by Louisville mayors for his contributions during critical incident responses and was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
