Mike Reitz serves as Director of Chatham County Emergency Operations in North Carolina. A former president of the North Carolina Chapter of APCO, he brings more than 27 years of public safety experience spanning fire, EMS, emergency communications, and emergency management. He has deployed repeatedly during his career, including in response to Hurricanes Katrina and Helene. Mike has led major capital initiatives, including implementation of a new public safety radio system with eight tower sites, countywide responder equipment, and a new facility that houses both the emergency communications center and emergency operations center. Whether managing large-scale projects or smaller system upgrades, he values input from across the organization.
